
I took the food from her, the scent of soy and spice and something deep-fried filling the space between us like a warm blanket. For a moment, I didn't say anything. I just ate, quietly, chewing on noodles that tasted more like comfort than flavor. Bianca stayed silent too, which was rare for her, and I appreciated it more than I could say.
